The Periodical and Book Association of America (PBAA) today announced the results of the board election held on June 14, 2011 in Baltimore at the association’s annual member meeting.

Dave Alleger (Clark Group, Inc.), Will Michalopoulos (Hearst Magazines), and Chip Smith (Kable Distribution Services) will serve two year terms (2011-2013) on the seven member PBAA Board of Directors. Board members currently serving two year terms (2010-2012) are Rich Alleger (Rodale, Inc.), Irwin Billman (Billman Media), and Mary McEvoy (MCMcEvoy + Associates).

The current PBAA President, Joe Gallo (Penthouse), who is completing his term as President on December 31, 2011, is the seventh member of the PBAA Board.  Executive Vice President Jay Annis (Taunton) will assume the position of PBAA President on January 1, 2012 and will thus replace Gallo on the board. Chris Moody (Consumer Reports) will serve as Executive Vice President under Jay Annis.

Appointment of other PBAA officers will be made after the new board meets in July, at which time the board will elect a chair for the coming year.

PBAA wishes to thank outgoing board member Marcia Orovitz (Active Interest Media) for her years of service to PBAA, and John MacKethan (National Geographic) and Brian McDonnell (Circ One) for their support and participation in the board election.
