The Pat McCarthy Award honors a PBAA member who has helped enhance the success of the publishing industry and whose achievements and influence have been vital to many of the industry’s accomplishments.

Pat McCarthy was the Editor in Chief of Magazine & Bookseller, an industry trade publication that recently ceased publication. Pat was a true friend of the PBAA and the entire single copy industry, and a senior and multitalented journalist at a time when she was the only editorial voice for the newsstand trade. PBAA honors her memory by awarding a plaque to an industry participant who exemplifies the criteria of having a vital influence on the industry.
